Artist statement
My name is Marangely. I am currently a freshman at Blue Valley West.
At first, I thought that this class would be digital photography, when I found out it wasn't digital it was film I was even more excited. My mom took photography at her own high-school and had her own film camera that she let me use for the semester.
I immediately loved my first classes of learning how to load film, take pictures, process negatives and eventually process a full print.
My favorite subjects to photograph were my friends because they have genuine reactions to the camera (some of them are very camera shy) and nature photos where I got to find a different angle to a flower I had seen all the time. I also really enjoyed architecture because I live in the city where we have really cool buildings.
